Photo Gallery

Hi Treehousers

I am developing a wordpress site that needs a photo gallery to group photos together and some text to describe the group of photos.

I started with a custom post using Custom Post Types UI and Advanced Custom Fields (like Zac described in the video) which kind of does what I want. But because all of the photos are different sizes and orientations the layout looks a bit messy. You can see the page here

Next I tried some gallery plugins like NextGEN Gallery which did a better job but the way that it stores the photos is way too complicated and it's very slow to load the pages unless I also install a bunch of other plugins to extend it. I'm also not confident that it will work properly on a smartphone.

Any advice on how to improve my custom post or a recommendation for a plugin that is easy to use for the end user would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks heaps

John

Zac, You are awesome.

I did find a premium plugin that does what I wanted and the website owner loves it. (showcase by dev7studios.com/)

I do like the like the link that you sent me and I'll definitely use it for my next project.

The final site is

This is my first wordpress site and I'm extremely proud of it, if you happen to have time I'd really love to know what you think.

Thanks very much for taking the time to answer my question.

John
