Php or Wordpress track first?

I'm interested in Wordpress development and pondering on which track should I take first, Php or Wordpress.

Thanks for your help!

If you don't know anything about functions, loops, etc, so PHP first will be the right choice.

I think it depends on your needs. I'm taking the Wordpress track first because i have two sites I need to have up and running ASAP. Also, I do not plan on doing much if any php customization. The Wordpress track does cover some php functions specific to Wordpress. However, if you want to get into theme or plugin development, you are better off mastering PHP first. Good luck!

Technically the WordPress Development tracks assumes you know PHP so I would suggest taking one or two of the basic PHP courses first. The whole track isn't really necessary although you may want to take some more advanced PHP courses when you get to the Plugin course.

I think I'll choose the PHP at first. After that course Wordpress is easier I guess?

Thanks for all the answers Muhammad, Linda and Zac.

By the way it's cool to see instructor active here in forums!
