Please help me.

Would you please help me by giving me the code and then explaining it.

The task is: Now create a function named date_string that takes a datetime and returns a string like "May 20" using strftime. The format string is "%B %d".

Thank You! Jack

birthdays.py
import datetime

birthdays = [
    datetime.datetime(2012, 4, 29),
    datetime.datetime(2006, 8, 9),
    datetime.datetime(1978, 5, 16),
    datetime.datetime(1981, 8, 15),
    datetime.datetime(2001, 7, 4),
    datetime.datetime(1999, 12, 30)
]

today = datetime.datetime.today()
#(4) return

def date_string(dy): #(1)ok done !!!!
    string = dy.strftime("%B %d") # (2) done! and (3) done!
    return string # (4) done!
print(date_string(today)) # today = datetime.datetime.now()

Don't forget the hint given in all challenges: "Important: In each task of this code challenge, the code you write should be added to the code from the previous task."

Your task 2 function is OK, but the code for task 1 seems to have been removed. You need both functions to pass task 2.

Also, you won't need to "print" anything.
