Python Python Basics Functions and Looping Raise an Exception

Please help me how to use "raise" error, Thanks

There is a challenge, but don't understand "raise" method. Please help me to understand that method.

suggestinator.py
def suggest(product_idea):
    return product_idea + "inator"
    raise ValueError(len(product_idea)<3)

You need to wrap the raise statement with a conditional statement like IF.

if len(product_idea) < 3
    raise ValueError('error message here')
else:
    return product_idea + 'inator'
