Why my code is not working?

def create_challenge(name, language, steps =1):
  Challenge.create(name = "Ruby", language = "Booleans", steps)
  pass

You need to pass the arguments from the function to the create() method:

from models import Challenge
def create_challenge(name, language, steps=1):
    Challenge.create(name=name, language=language, steps=steps)
    #pass  #<-- not needed

Bonus: To improve your coding style: Do not put spaces around "=" in argument assignments.
