I solved as below:

contacts = re.search(r''' (?P<email>[-\w+\w.]@[-\w.]),\s* (?P<phone>\d{3}-\d{3}-\d{4})\s* ''', string, re.X|re.M|re.I)

Hi Mduduzi, the search method will only obtain the first result. If you want to find all occurrences, you have to use the findall method.

[Edit] Sorry, I thought you were only asking why it was only finding one result. Your code isn't passing the question because you are capturing the whitespace at the front of the email and at the front of the phone number. Easy fix, just remove the \s from the start of both patterns.

contacts = re.search(r"""
    (?P<email>[\w+.]*@[\w.]*),\s*
    (?P<phone>\d{3}-\d{3}-\d{4}),\s*
    """,string,re.X|re.M|re.I)

Thanks Umesh.
