Really slow wordpress site for migration.

Hey Guys,

I migrated my static website over to wordpress today and it's painfully slow. It's a basic 1 page website with a few images and links.

Does anyone know why it would be acting up like this?

Thanks,

Joe

It really depends on your server setup and how you put that one page together. Unlike static websites, WordPress communicates with dynamic data (which can be cumbersome). This is why the correct server configuration and caching are important.

I've just got it on my shared hosting plan through dreamhost. I think something maybe wrong because it's really slow and sometimes doesn't even load the page. Not sure where to start looking for the issue?
