But the course examples are only intended to illustrate how the techniques work, you would still need other parts to create a useful program. In this case you might also use forms or AJAX requests to send the data back to the server for storage in a database, or you might employ local storage if you just wanted the data to persist in your own machine. You might also employ an authorization mechanism so some users could only view the data, but others could change it.

You'll find these other techniques covered in other courses, but it's not likely that any single one of them would contain a fully function web application as an example.
