43 PointsReplacing theme content exactly with mine - http://exhausttunes.com/ Instructions?
Hey all; I've never had anyone be able to answer this question but it would seem to be simple. I like this theme, like the home page, and like the layout. But I obviously want my content and if I could do that - well I'm pretty happy on a Saturday night!

11,066 PointsIs your question how to upload this theme to your own website? The theme in question seems to be " Boot Store," which you can find here https://wordpress.org/themes/boot-store . You would then install WordPress on your website (usually there is a "one click" solution to do this in the Cpanel or whatever. You would then access your WordPress admin page (yourdomain.com/wp-admin). Go to the Themes section and upload your Boot Store theme. You can then edit it with your own content.

and many more! Have fun. WordPress is awesome. The Treehouse course taught by WordPress Teacher Zac should be perfect for you!

43 PointsHi Michael - no this theme is live on the site on the link I included. My question is - and this has had me stuck. I want my site to look exactly like the home page that is up now with the theme installed - BUT WITH MY CONTENT.
I want to literally swap my content for what's there.
If you can answer this - and I know it's possible - it would be a huge help. Thanks!

43 PointsHI Ryan, I use Wordpress for site builds - so it's not static and it's more "site" than blog. If you view it at http://www.exhausttunes.com - to use a print analogy - I want to use that exact layout - but replace the main slider/photo and then the three photos and copy below with my slider/photos and or videos and copy.
This is an enthusiast site for aviation/auto etc. So it's commercial and will have advertising, comments, etc. Sort of like this:
When I try to "build" pages from scratch they invariably never look like the theme page - which is perfect in this case.

43 PointsBy the way thanks for the assist guys.
The Bootstrap functionality fixed the header - I placed a random photo and you can see it now live.
So the same thing with the photos and copy below.

Courses Plus Student 46,022 PointsOkay, if you're on WordPress, the majority of your site should convert itself over to the new theme without a hitch. It's getting that exact layout on your homepage that I'm not sure about.
Download the theme onto your site and preview it; do not activate it until after you preview it. I can tell by its preview that you'll have to tweak your content at least a little bit to get it working nicely. Don't worry, though; it looks like the theme will point you in the right direction.
If you need any help, come back and I'll be happy to assist. It's late where I am, though; I'll be hitting the sack soon.

43 PointsOkay Ryan sounds good and thanks. To be clear - it is already live on my site. I've already been modifying it.
This is an interesting topic for me because often I will like the theme - but then have difficulty making it look like it looks in the Preview. I wonder whether this is worth a tutorial - if for no other reason than as a learning tool on file structure and theme building.
Call it a night - I might play with it but I have an early morning tomorrow.
I am looking forward to getting the site ready for public consumption though - there is just so much good content and it's a tie-in with my book project - http://www.perimeter-book.com.
Appreciate your willingness to help out - good night

This is such a true statement. And it's why I prefer to build my own themes from scratch. Sure, I can get a good-looking theme for free from the theme directory. The problem is that each theme is very opinionated, and getting everything to look good (the way it does in the preview) is a nightmare. And let's not even talk about switching themes and transferring settings. Yeesh.
Anyway, glad I could help!
