RSS Feeds

A client wants me to pull data from multiple websites RSS feeds to a wordpress site i am developing for them. Once pulled, the data should be sorted and assigned to different taxonomies like business, science, etc. I have never worked with RSS feeds and i'd love you forever if you could give me an overview on how this is done....AJAX? Ive been researching and as of now, it looks like simplepie will be the best idea....im not aware of the different kinds of RSS feeds...are there multiple kinds?

You can either do this with Ajax or save the feed data in WP and display it with PHP. The RSS Aggregator plugin pulls the data into WP so you would display it like all your other content.
