Hi
I am currently building my portfolio with WordPress themes and I was thinking to also publish these themes on to a marketplace to hopefully make some bux as a bonus.
I do how ever have a few question (if you have experience from selling themes at a market place)
What kind of research can be good to do before start making the theme to higher the odds to get one sale? Like what category the theme should be in (retail, resturant, sports and so on)
Anyone here who have went from 0 to HERO, in WordPress Dev (And maybe even Web Dev in general) using only (or mostly) Treehouse as their learning resource, and tried selling themes on a marketplace? How did it go? Any advice to share?
What is your experience from trying to sell Themes at a marketplace?

6,301 PointsYo, I have published themes on Theme Forest before and I have sold about 3 copies haha but it is really straight forward and easy to do!

3,316 PointsYeah, the problem is (as I see it) is that there SOO MANY themes at marketplaces like Themeforest today. So figure it would be a good idea to find theme categories with low competiton but that still sales. How long ago did you publish? What was you experience i WP Dev when you published? It what category did you publish, and why did you pick that category? Could you link to your theme? :)
