Setting max-width for media queries

How do we know what size to set max-width for media queries? IS there a standard for phones vs. tablets, or do developers choose them randomly...? If I resize my window, how do I know what size the window is now?

Hi, Yvette. There are some really basic general sizes that people use, specifically 480px (phones), 768px (tablets), and 1024px (computer screens), but these are, again, very general and differ from person to person and project to project. It's generally a better idea to just put in a breakpoint when your content starts to look strange as you narrow your screen. You can tell the size of your screen, by the way, if you have the developer tools open (at least on Chrome) when you shrink the size down (it should be in the top right corner).
