Setting up Wordpress for a client

I have a client who wants me to customise a theme Wordpress theme for them and get them set up to use Wordpress.

I've got MAMP on my computer and have experience with theme customisation and building themes from scratch.

However I'm a bit unsure about what the process is for setting up Wordpress for clients. Would it be best to get them to set up their hosting and server and install Wordpress? Then for me to customise the theme locally on my computer and then install it on their computer when it's ready to go?

Thanks for any help/advice.

Gabriel Ward Hello sir!

If this will be a fresh new site and install, the best way (in my opinion) would be for them to purchase their domain and hosting account and then transfer the site and database to their server. (you can do it if it's not a fresh new site and install but the process is a bit different)

You can achieve this using: Duplicator (Wordpress Plugin)

(I have used this method multiple times to transfer sites)

You'll want to watch the tutorial and brush up on how the process works (very simple) and you'll also need FTP access to the server with root access and their account info so you can create a new database and so on.
