One very highly ranked plug in for building pages the way you want them to look (which includes establishing columns) that I have used is PageBuilder: http://streetcrit.org/wp-admin/plugin-install.php?tab=search&s=Page+builder

Try site origins plugins, widgets and layout builder. Perhaps they provide what you need

If you already have a dashboard for a website on Wordpress, hover over "Plugins" on the left sidebar, click on "Add new," and then in the search box put in "page builder." It's the first one that comes up called "Pagebuilder by SiteOrigin." Click on that and you will get all the info available on the plugin in.

OR....

You can click on this link. It's the info page for Pagebuilder on the Wordpress.org site. Pretty much the same info that you'll find on the actual plugin site.
