Simple Wordpress shop for potential client

Hi all

I have a potential client who wants a simple website that she can keep updated herself and have a shop feature included to sell the things she makes. Now i know my way around Wordpress, I'm no expert but feel I could create her a basic site and I feel it could be the best way forward for her to self edit the site. However the shop thing is new to me. Can anyone recommend a easy Wordpress shop plugin, on theme? Free or premium I want to look at all possibilities. It needs to be fairly simple, for me to set up but mostly for the client to maintain. She wants to use simple paypal payement method. I have looked at woothemes ecommerce, has anyone used this? It looks very in depth but is it to much for what I need?

Any useful help or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! Claire

I would suggest WooCommerce, especially if its a simple shop. Magento is an option for more complicated online stores though.

WooCommerce for sure. We have a course coming out the first week in Nov that goes into depth on it, but it's not too hard to begin to setup and figure out yourself.

I recommend Shopify for a more all-in-one solution. I've been using Shopify for my merchandise shop for about 7 months now. Very easy to maintain and manage.
