HTML How to Make a Website Creating HTML Content Create Navigation with Lists

so many things are wrong in this!

ok in the preview my "About"isn't a link and my typing isn't blue OR underlined and it says my navigation needs to be in my header which it hopefully is? I need so much help!

You have two problems in your code first here is the problem section 

<header></header>
      <a href="index.html"></a>
        <h1>Natalie Stebbins</h1>
        <h2>My Drawings</h2>
      </a>
      <nav>
      <ul>
        <li><a href="index.html">Portfolio</a></li>
        <li><a href="about.html"></a>About</a></li>
        <li><a href="contact.html">Contact</a></li>
      </ul>
      </nav>
    </header> ```

You have a closing </header> tag right after your <header> opening tag. 
You should only have one closing tag per opening tag. 
The reason the link "about link doesn't work is because you closed the link twice with </a> tags. 
Remove the first one and it should work.

You are closing the header straight away.

Then in your About link you have 2 closing tags.

So try :

nope, it says my <nav> element should be directly after my <header> element, I do that, then it says it has to be INSIDE the <header> element!
