CSS CSS Basics (2014) Understanding Values and Units Styling the Intro Paragraph

span

i'm not really sure what i need to do with the question on creating a span rule inside the .intro i have tried a few things but still utterly confused .intro { font-size: 1.25em; line-height: 1.6; span: bold italic; } the question is: Create a new rule that targets the span element inside .intro. Give the span element a bold font weight and an italic font style. before i tried the last one i used

.intro-span { font-weight: bold; font-style: italics; } i know this isn't right but i'm utterly lost on this at the moment could someone help me figure this out?

Trever,

To target a child element, such as the span that is inside the paragraph with the class "intro", you would write it as follows:

.intro span {
    /*properties go here*/
}

First, you select the parent, then you select the child (with a space in between). It is like telling the computer to "first look for the .intro class, then inside of that, look for any spans".

Hope this helps!

Erik

awesome thank you that worked. first time i typed that it still came up in grey so i wasn't sure it would work properly. but it did so thank you!
