Instead of creating another variable called $fullname, you should write this:

echo $firstName . ' '. $lastName . 'was the original creator of PHP.' . "\n";

And that's because: 1) Variables do not need to have quotes around them when they are echoed. 2) You use an echo statement to print things to the screen. 3) When you switch between un-quoted variables and text, you have to concatenate with a .

Since things in double quotes will be evaluated, you can also write this:

echo "$firstname $lastname was the original creator of PHP. \n";
