Why doesn't this work? I don't understand. Am I using the multiplication operator wrong?
struct Expense {
var description: String
var amount: Double = 0.0
init (description: String) {
self.description = description
}
func calculateTaxes (percentage: Double) {
return self.amount * (percentage/100)
}
// add the calculateTaxes method here
// it should accept only one parameter named 'percentage' of type Double
}
struct Expense {
var description: String
var amount: Double = 0.0
init (description: String) {
self.description = description
}
func calculateTaxes (percentage: Double) {
return self.amount * (percentage/100)
}
// add the calculateTaxes method here
// it should accept only one parameter named 'percentage' of type Double
}

9,770 PointsYour calculateTaxes
function's signature is missing the return part which is necessary because you are returning the calculated tax of type Double
. So correct it to read -
func calculateTaxes (percentage: Double) -> Double {
return self.amount * (percentage/100)
}
