8,391 PointsStuck on Challenge Question: Swift Enums and Structs
The is to "figure out the tax amount with the percentage is 7.5. Call the method calculateTaxes on the variable 'item' and assign the result to a new variable named taxes."
I am not sure how to call the calculateTaxes method on the variable 'item,' what is the syntax for this and should it happen inside the curly braces or outside?
Thank you for any help!!
struct Expense {
var description: String
var amount: Double = 0.0
init (description: String) {
self.description = description
}
func calculateTaxes (percentage: Double) -> Double {
return (self.amount * (percentage/100))
}
}
var item = Expense (description: "Amount with taxes")
item.amount = 100.0

7,879 PointsSince you already define a method in the struct, you can use item.calculateTaxes(7.5) to get the answer. 7.5 is the require percentage which is the parameter in this method. Hope this helps!!
