Template files not working

I have created 4 template page file for my wordpress theme but l cannot get to them by clicking the link for the pages I used them as templates in. Any idea why this templates are not working? They got the php tag to say the name of the template.

Are they appearing in the dropdown menu when you go to a page and select from the available templates? If not, can you post up one of your template examples.

Hi Zac Gordon thanks for responding. Yeah the templates are appearing from the dropdown but however they are not opening up with their relevant links in the menu. l can also go view them through my customizer but just cant navigate to them in the menu. So weird.

So you created a page, choose the template for that page and then that new page doesn't show up in the menu? Do you just have to update your Menu?

it does show up in the menu but when l click on it it doesn't take me to the it. it remains on the same page. l assume the menu was up to that as l created it with the latest codex's instruction.

the exact wrror it gives is as follows:

The requested URL /wordpress02/index.php was not found on this server

Got it working now :)
