Edit: The answer is varchar. The question is worded badly.

Phil Sturgeon might want to take a look at the question. It could be that UTF was suppose to be the answer and it ended up not being that way, or the question is just worded badly; or perhaps we are both missing something very obvious.

I think something went wrong when the questions were created because "varchar" is the correct answer for another question in that set of questions (the one that asks what data type should one use to store timezone information).

Either I got that wrong writing these Q&A's, or it was input into the system badly, but the answer is definitely not meant to be varchar.

I'll report it to the people with the power to change things.
