CSS Animating SVG with CSS Transitions and Transforms Rotating and Scaling SVG

The transition doesn't work

on hover the scale or rotate works but doesn't ease or go back to its original position, i've tried in chrome safari and firefox.

Is there something i'm doing wrong?

You've probably already figured it out, but make sure that your transition property is not inside the :hover selector but instead inside the ":hover-less" class (sorry haven't got the lingo nailed yet).
