Theme does not look the same after downloading to wordpress, and unable to upload images of big sizes

I just started to learn wordpress, set up local host, and wordpress, loaded some themes. The problem I am having is that where the theme is showing (from wordpress.org), it has lot more things in it , but when I upload, it is too simple, and does not have main things that I need. I just loaded theme called, "snapshot" theme, another problem is I cannot upload images into it, I think wordpress allows only 2 mb size images to upload, and my images are all like 12 to 14 mbs. I wanted to make a site which will show my shots, and there will be option to buy the shots. May be I am not loading the images at the right place, or I don't know how to load images. I would really appreciate any help or any answer to my questions. Thanks in advance.

The themes when you first install them are in their simplest forms. There'll be a tonne of settings, plugins, tweaks and customisations to make to get it to look like what you bought or downloaded.

As for the images, 12mb is massive. It'll take forever to download a page. You can change the upload limit, google it and you'll find your answer. I would really recommend using a jpeg or png though. They'll still look good.

To build on this Matthew is correct. You will get the theme files from Wordpress.org but what you won't get is the content and the settings that you must add. It's not really a plug and play deal in that aspect, you still have to build it all up, it just gives you a nice framework and saves you hours upon hours.

Wordpress is doing you a favor by not allowing you to upload images larger than 2mb. Really, they are. You do NOT want to display 12 to 14mb images. Your mobile users will absolutely hate your site if they have to load multiple 12MB images over their network, even wifi, it'll be too slow. You should learn how to compress and optimize your images, and get copies of these 12mb images down well below 2mp to show on your website. If done right, it will still look fine. An added bonus is that it will look fine on your website, but look like crap printing, which will deter people from just saving and printing a nice resolution copy of the image.

If you want to offer the ability for people to pay for, and download the full 12mb image, that will take some customer code you will have to learn to do yourself.

thank you for your suggestion

thanks a lot for your advice
