The challenge is worded a little poorly, so I'll post the code that they're looking for, then I'll explain why it works:
Part 1:
.column {
flex: 1 300px;
}
In the first part of the challenge, they want you to set the column to fit all of the flex items on one line if they column is 300px or wider.
We can achieve this by setting the flex-grow value to 1, which will distribute an equal width to each flex item on the same line within the column. So, the first value in the shorthand flex declaration represents this flex-grow value of 1.
Next, we assign a flex-basis value of 300px, which sets the initial main size of the column to 300px. This is the second value represented in the flex shorthand declaration.
Part 2
.row {
display: flex;
flex-wrap: wrap;
}
In the second part of the challenge, we give the flex items (the .row class) a flex-wrap declaration with a value of wrap. This will make the flex items wrap to the next line when the column width is less than 300px.
Good luck with the course!

Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree Student 4,240 PointsHere is the question: 'Set the columns to expand and display on one line when they are 300px or wider, but when the columns are narrower than 300px, the browser will redistribute the space and display them on multiple lines.'
