under the function definition

Great now that you have created your new square method, let's put it to use.

Under the function definition, call your new function and pass it the argument 3.

Since your square function returns a value, create a new variable named result to store the value from the function call.

When they say "under the function definition", they don't mean to add the new code inside the function. They mean to place the new code after and outside of the function (and also not indented).

Also, you won't want to enclose your function call in quotes. That would make it a string literal instead of a function call.
