I don't understand why, when I apply the styles to the ol or ul, without me writing it, the list-style is set to none. I find this strange...

It's because the text color is set to white. It disappears because the background is also white. (The links remains blue, because the ul li selector doesn't affect link elements.)

2,599 PointsYea I was curious about why the links didn't turn white. It was only the bullet points that change to white which we couldn't see because the background is also white. You would have to do (ul li a) to change the link color.
