6,807 Pointsuser names and passwords for local wordpress development
Once I have my test folder set up for local wordpress development into my htdocs folder and begin setting up new wordpress installs for multiple test sites, can I use the same user name and password, or should I use a new one for each site. I will be the only one using the sites locally so wanted to keep it easy to remember.

As long as each local development is separate, I don't see why you shouldn't be able to use the same username and password, because like you said, it is only local and only you. The 'other installs' aren't aware of each other...

32,861 PointsYou can actually put as many WordPress installs as you want into a single database. You just have to make the table prefix different for each install and set the table prefix for each in your wp-config file. It's best to keep them separated though so you only can "mess up" one site at a time if you accidentally do something to the database.
