Web Hosting for Students DNS error, cannot access renewed domain name.

I've had a student account and a domain name registered with Web Hosting for Students for about a year. I found out this morning that my domain name had expired. I thought I renewed it when I renewed my account service. So I renewed my domain name immediately and according to the client area, my name is "active".

But whenever I try to access my site online, from any computer, I get the error message "domainname.com is not available" and details that the DNS is having trouble connecting to the name. I already tried the tricks suggested on the hosting website to no avail.

I sent an open ticket to the customer service this morning and I'm waiting to hear back, but I'm hoping to get some support here as well. Does the DNS or renewal take time? Or is there anything else I can try in the meantime?

I really appreciate it!

To my knowledge it does take time. If you forget to renew your domain in time you open it up for other people to obtain it.

I figured it would take time for everything to refresh.

I actually took a look at my invoices and it says that I actually did renew my domain name until 2016 since I set it up for automatic renewal payments. So I will contact support and let them know what is happening.

Thanks again!
