We're still teaching WordPress!

Howdy folks,

There's been a little bit of chatter recently, both here and on Twitter, about the future of WordPress at Treehouse. We want to take the opportunity and make sure it's clear to everyone:

We'll continue to offer our quality WordPress content to students for the foreseeable future.

We're not giving up on WordPress. Like many have mentioned, it's a huge milestone that 25% of the web is powered by it. Our sixty hours of WordPress content isn't going anywhere. At the same time, we don't make promises about the future of content at Treehouse beyond our Content Roadmap. If you think there's a hole in our curriculum that you're qualified to teach, please apply to be a guest teacher. We'd love to have you.

WordPress is awesome. You're awesome.

Thanks for being a student.

Hi Kyle,

Wow, I'm really happy I read this post. I was disappointed to hear that Treehouse might be dropping support for WordPress. Whilst it's a shame that Zac won't be teaching any more WordPress courses it's good to know there may be more WordPress courses in the future. A big part of my learning path at the moment is Wordpress Development so it's good to know that WordPress will be visible for at least the foreseeable future so thanks for this update :)

I've noticed that courses in the Content Roadmap sometimes change colors/titles/get pushed back another month. I understand that things are a work in progress, but how much should I be looking at this as a real schedule of releases?

Hey Brendan — We're working harder and harder to make the Content Roadmap as reliable as possible. We can't make any promises because life happens, but you should be able to trust the schedule to be generally reliable.

Great to hear! I was really disappointed when I first read the other post, as Treehouse's WordPress courses are some of my favorites. I'm still hoping one day that we'll get a course that covers WordPress security in depth.

Agreed. WordPress is a big target and making sure it's secure is an ongoing task! Thanks for the feedback :zap:

Good to know! :) WP is one of mine favourite too, at least now. I think there are lots of topic that Zac did cover, and they could be just enough to cover everything. but i didn't went throw them all, so i don't know. I learned a lot from Zac.
