What do you think is the most flexible WordPress framework to work with?

I have worked with both Thesis and Genesis, but have never worked with Canvas. I would love to get some other opinions on the pros and cons of Genesis, Canvas, Thesis, or any other good WP frameworks out there.

Which is your go-to framework and why?

Thanks!

I've been thinking a lot about this one since at some point this year I would like to tackle a WordPress Framework video. I have most experience using Canvas. I made this decision because I like WooThemes and use WooCommerce a lot, so I thought it would be nice to use the WooThemes framework as well. I've been very happy with it and still use it today.

That said, I would probably recommend people use Genesis if they are just getting into a framework. My reason for this has to do with the large number of other people who use Genesis. There is a huge community for it and that goes a long way for me in making a decision.

I've found that most people who use Frameworks take advantage of about 10% of what's really possible. In most cases, a good starter theme like underscore would be all they need. I'm curious how and why folks feel the need to use frameworks.

Great question though!

Zac your videos are great by the way. I know WordPress really well and always seem to learn something from you.

I have been using both canvas and genesis and like them both. Genesis has a cult like following. The code is really good and fast. Sometimes I'm a bit disillusioned with the cult status thought. Can't put my finger on it.

I tried frameworks because I looked around the web and a lot of people said to use a framework because it would make things faster and so I invested in Genesis and Canvas. I don't love Genesis like everyone else seems to. I tried iThemes but don't really like them except for the backup buddy plugin.

Frankly I still really like to customize 2010, 2011 and 2013. They are so simple and solid. also cyber-chimps is dead simple. I think people are beginning to call that a framework. Cyber-chimps responsive is good. except once in a while when they update their code some of my sites will breaks. That has never happened with any of the other themes. Weaver Pro is great for someone who knows how to customize it. It's solid. The guy who invented Weaver Pro invented the word processing software corel word perfect. He's a genius.
