What does "passing in a 1" mean? i am absolutely unfamiliar to this therm, how should i call this method?

I do not understand what he means by "passing in a 1", which makes it impossible to complete the task...

When they say "passing in" they mean "supplying as the argument".

So if you are "passing in a 1" then when you invoke the function, you would have a 1 in parentheses following the function name.
