what is the "Synchronous Get" used for?

Hey, so right now I understand why we are using the "Asynchronous Get" code, but what is the "Synchronous Get" used for, like why would we use it if it is going to crash our program?

In other projects, you might already be in a situation where you are already in a thread besides the main/UI thread. In that case, if you want to make a network call, etc. you can use the "synchronous" get.

At least... I think that's the case.
