6,514 PointsSegmenting customers is a way to group and classify who potential customers could be for your business. You main customer classes could be "Individuals with lawns" and "Businesses with lawns". Within each of those you would want to break it down to be really specific- what neighborhood, etc? The more specific the better. "Apartment building residents" probably wouldn't be a Lawn care segment.

1,460 PointsI suppose it depends on your business...if you are a fertilizer company you would see this much differently than you would if you were a telephone provider trying to sell service to this company.
