Try checking the length of product_idea and raising the ValueError inside the function, before the function returns. To find the length of the string, you can do len(product_idea).

um.. okay this is my new code but its still wrong. def suggest(product_idea): return product_idea + "inator" if len(product_idea) >= 3: raise ValueError("product id

return product_idea + "inator" should be the last line in your function. You also switched <= with >= and your ValueError is missing its closing quotes and parenthesis.
