Python Functions, Packing, and Unpacking Getting Info In and Out of Functions Functions with Arguments and Returns

Why am I getting AssertionError: None != 'Hello Ashley'?

I tried running the code and it seems to work fine but I am still failing the challenge. It takes the parameter (name) and returns to print out the string "Hello" + (name). I've tried everything and I still don't understand how to complete the challenge.

creating_functions.py
def hello_student(name):
    return print("Hello " + name)

1 Answer

The print function returns None so your hello_student function returns None. Eliminate print from your return statement.

Thank you!
