Development Tools Introduction to Docker Why Docker? Why this Course?

Why does he mention prerequisites when none are actually listed?

He mentions prerequisites. None appear on the course page.

Whoops! It does look like the prerequisite got removed. There's only one course you really need to take before Introduction to Docker, and that's Introduction to the Terminal. I've added that as a prerequisite for this Docker course. Sorry for the confusion!

Jay McGavren — Cool, so does Nathaniel get an "Exterminator"?

And speaking of the Terminal course .. any chance we could have the "console" VM tool back that was used in the old course? It was a very nice resource in itself!

Steven Parker the legacy console was actually only used in a couple courses that are now retired, and we're looking to decommission it so we don't have that extra maintenance cost. Instead, we have the Console area in Workspaces, which uses much the same technology.

Were there any features you used in the legacy console that aren't in the Workspaces console?

I haven't used the new one much yet, but it doesn't look as much like a terminal to a virtual machine. And the old one gave you the "su" password as you connected (I remember it was "mike the frog"), which you could use to try administrative commands like adding users and even install and test software packages. Can you do that with the new one?

Steven Parker the Workspaces console doesn't currently support sudo access, no. I'll file that as a feature request. Thanks!

It looks like you may have discovered a course bug. The procedure for reporting bugs is described on the Support page. And you may get an "Exterminator" badge! :beetle:
