Why doesn´t it work?

I am trying this, but it says "it looks like task one is no longer passing".

I have already checked similar questions but I have no positive results on my excercise.

Any other solution?

index.php
<?php

//Place your code below this comment

  $firstName = "Rasmus";

  $lastName = "Lerdorf ";

  $fullName = $firstName . " " . $lastName

  echo "$fullName. was the original creator of PHP"

?>

Hey Carlos! It seems like you have a few extra unnecessary characters in there. First, $lastName does not need the space at the end. Second, you're echoing the wrong string. Here's what I did:

<?php

//Place your code below this comment
$firstName = "Rasmus";
$lastName = "Lerdorf";
$fullName = "$firstName $lastName";
echo "$fullName was the original creator of PHP.\n"
?>
