28,888 PointsHi there!
There are a few things that should help. First you don't need to create any new variables but you will need to do the conditional check twice to meet the objective of the exercise.
Here's an example of checking just the first student.
<?php
$studentOneName = 'Dave';
$studentOneGPA = 3.8;
$studentTwoName = 'Treasure';
$studentTwoGPA = 4.0;
//Place your code below this comment
if ($studentOneGPA === 4.0) {
echo $studentOneName . " made the Honor Roll";
} else {
echo $studentOneName . " has a GPA of " . $studentOneGPA;
}
// Add the same check for the second student here.
?>
You'll notice that the echo statement has the variables outside of the string and uses concatenation to tie the variable and the message together. You also don't need an else if
since the else
will work just fine for you in this case.
You'll want to repeat this check again for the second student as well.
