Python Python Basics (2015) Python Data Types Use .split() and .join()

Why isn't this passing? Please help!

What is wrong with task 1.

banana.py
available = "banana split;hot fudge;cherry;malted;black and white"
sundaes = available.split(';')
menu = 'Our available flavors are: {}.'.format()

The .format() method is empty, it should say sundaes, otherwise it doesn't know what to fill the brackets with.

Try: menu = 'Our available flavors are: {}.'.format(sundaes)

1 Answer

You need to enter something in the .format() method.

Here are 2 different ways how to do this challenge:

Option 1:

available = "banana split;hot fudge;cherry;malted;black and white"
sundaes = available.split(';')
display_menu =  # join the 'sundaes' here
menu = 'Our available flavors are: {}.'.format(display_menu)

Option 2:

available = "banana split;hot fudge;cherry;malted;black and white"
sundaes = available.split(';')
menu = 'Our available flavors are: {}.'.format(# join the 'sundaes' here)
