This didn't work neither did concatenating and assigning to firstName before WriteLine
string firstName = Console.ReadLine();
Console.WriteLine(firstName+โ rocks!โ);

231,248 PointsYou've got the wrong kind of quote marks. As Patrik indicated visually, you're using word-processor style quotes instead of programming quotes. This might be from cutting and pasting them from the instructions. Actually cutting the message itself is a good idea, but always add the quotes yourself to make sure they're the right kind.
