Wordpress Custom Menu not working

Hi there, I just wondering if anyone has ever run into this issue & if so how you managed to fix it?

When developing a Wordpress custom menu it seems as if it doesn't allow any more than approx. 100 menu items (main & submenu items combined) to be added to the menu (I know that this seems like a lot of menu items but it is a bilingual site). If you try to add any more after that, they just disappear after saving them.

I have spent a considerable amount of time reading forms that suggest editing the php.ini file or the .htaccess file, but these does not seem to help correct the problem. The Wordpress install is 3.8.1.

Any suggestions or solutions for this problem would be the equivalent of the receiving the most awesome birthday present ever!

Thanks & Cheers!

Perfect, thanks Zac, worked like a charm. Finding the php.ini. file was the biggest challenge. Ended up having to edit it through SSH.
