WordPress deep dive !

Hello all,

am really wondering why inst there a WP deep dive yet. word press is CMS but its big and so customizable, deep dive shine with such a topic. i stopped my sub with treehouse because i got disappointed with the lack of focus about how to customize the WP it self. refereeing to the WP documentation is helpful but as starter like me is hard and easy to be lost and overwhelmed in their wiki.

one more thing, WP is built on PHP so i understand its hard to make WP deep dive if there is no PHP ( the main tech of WP ) doesn't have deep dive.

I rejoined treehouse to see how things gone far. But i think its not much of improvement happened here.

P.S: i really like treehouse but when i pay 25$ monthly i expect more from you guys.because all the things i point out are provided from your competitors.

I haven't completed these courses yet but there seems to be a decent amount of information to get you going with both.

If you feel you aren't getting the value you expect just contact support I'm sure they can refund you and suspend the account if you wanted to use another service. For me Treehouse has paid for itself over and over again with what I can do from the knowledge I've gained.

thank you for pointing whats obvious, am asking about DEEP DIVE .. something goes into the topics and explain them well not projects that extend the understanding. the projects available here i already checked them and this is why i post here.

I think you are perhaps focusing too much on the wording "deep dive". From your profile it doesn't look like you have taken any of the PHP courses. If you work through them I'm sure you would gain a reasonable knowledge of how PHP works.

can you please stop judging people with their profiles, its not about completing and gathering points for me.

i set goals for my learning : learning PHP. so i checked treehouse i found what randy did with the PHP projects. i watched them along with other learning materials "books - wiki etc etc.." but no gain its not like other learning other topics got covered by the deep dive system ( HTML - CSS etc..)

so please if you think you want to help stop judging and answering with no full understanding and let others come and have look.

I was attempting to be helpful by linking to the videos you seemed to be asking for. It was not clear that you had taken any of the PHP courses.

Someone's profile is typically a good indicator of what they have been studying on Treehouse. Completing the code challenges and quizzes may help your knowledge sink in.

You are not being judged <3

I understand your frustration but i have to agree with Tom partly. Yes there is no deep dive but once you work through the basic Wordpress course and the simple php aplication then move onto customising a theme and moving onto plugins (agreed i havent completed the last part) you will be equipped with plenty of the basics in order to go forward. I realise other courses do explain things in more detail but ive found it quicker learning myself by getting the basics then exploring more using the stack overflow forums as they go into detail thats more complex and trains your brain to learn more like a coder. Once you get the basics of most these languages, they are very similar and then you can pick up new languages very quickly.

Applying these languages to systems such as Wordpress, Magento, Drupal, Joomla etc.. then its just about understanding their custom bits which are accessible in the info on most their websites.

If anything a course focusing more on all the CMS systems may be helpful but im sure there is other things they have planned!

Also agree its not just about getting points because you can easily rack up 10,000 without fully understanding bits but applying them to your own projects and using less and less guidance each time ive found is really drumming the understanding deep into me!

waiting a word from lovely staff of team treehouse !
