Wordpress Download?

I tried to download Wordpress for a class but the download froze midway and I had to restart the computer. Now, when I run the Web Platform Installer 5.0 I get to the part where I have to specify a password (I chose "root," as is standard.)

When I press "continue" it says "The specified password for user account 'root' is not valid, or failed to connect to the database server.

Using a password other than "root" or no password at all ALSO doesn't work.

UGH! What do I do now?

It sounds like it is asking for the database information you should have already setup if you're doing a manual install.

Thanks for your response, Zac. The first time I did the install (when it froze midway) I set the password to "root." Now, it is not accepting "root" as the password. Furthermore, Wordpress is not showing up as installed on my computer. If it were, I'd just uninstall it and start the whole thing over again.

I'm not sure where to go from here. Do you have any further suggestions? I tried loading the .exe installer file again but it doesn't matter. I restarted, etc.
