Regardless of any Wordpress free and premium theme, all footer credit can be modified, eg "Wed Design by..."? How can it be identified, the GPL license statement in the CSS file?
Thanks!

2,281 PointsIf there are some GPL license statement in the CSS file, you can see it with your browser. If you use chrome for example you can right click on the site and then "inspect elements" and you can see all the .html and .css files from the site. I think safari and firefox have some similar options but I prefer Chrome. Hope i could help...

I actually mean the legality of modifying the frontend footer credit, eg the credit link on this theme > https://wordpress.org/themes/appointment "Designed by Appointment". How can I confirm that I have the right to change it to "Web Developed by me" after modifying and enhancing the theme for a client work?
