7,243 PointsWordPress issue. Custom Post Type templates. How to make a website with WordPress.
Hello Everyone,
I've ran into an issue on the video entitled "Custom Post Type Templates". Zac says that on the right hand side of the screen, under the 'Page Attributes' drop down section, there should an additional drop menu entitled 'Template', and that in this section I should select 'Art Page'.
I'm guessing the UI is no longer the same because I do not have the option to do this?
In the help section, I'm told the following:
"Template - Some themes have custom templates you can use for certain pages that might have additional features or custom layouts. If so, you’ll see them in this dropdown menu."
Any help would be great.
Thanks

Treehouse Guest TeacherHi,
Did you already go through the steps of making the custom template and adding the special comment to make it available in that drop down?

7,243 PointsHi Zac, thanks for quick reply.
Yes, I downloaded the project files containing the additional 3 pages - art.php single-art.php and content-art.php.
I then added these folders to my child theme and uploaded them to the server via Cyberduck.
But still no drop-down.
I must have missed something somewhere along the way if the UI hasn't changed.
I'll retrace my steps and see if anything crops up.
Thanks

7,243 PointsHi Zac,
My mistake, I somehow managed to go back to working on the original theme rather than the child theme.
Thank you for your help.
Gareth.
