Wordpress Personal Profile

My host has a place on the wp set up form to add your first and last name. I noticed that once wp is installed, this information does show up in the wp profile. I know you can delete this information inside of the profile, but if your first and last name is not deleted, will it show up anywhere on the website publicly?

It can, depending on how you configure it. There should be a dropdown box somewhere near the first name/last name fields that allows you to choose how you want your name to be displayed. You have several different options to chose from, including your first name, your full name, your WordPress username (a more anonymous handle), and a couple others as well.
