Hi guys, I was in an interview and was asked about Wordpress Roots development, and I wasn't quite sure about it. Do any of you have an understanding of Wordpress Roots and can shed some light on it for me?

Courses Plus Student 21,263 PointsRoots is a starter theme and framework for WordPress https://roots.io/. However there are a few more levels to it now.
Roots was re-named to Sage and is a theme that can be added to WordPress. Sage comes with HTML5 Boilerplate and Bootstrap and Gulp I would certainly recommend checking out the Docs. Sage is good for when you want to start making a custom looking site in WordPress.
I havn't yet had much of a look at Bedrock and Trellis but they look interesting and useful for WordPress Development. for example Bedrock renames the wp-content folder and separates the structure a bit better and Trellis helps with deployment and servers.
