14,517 PointsWordPress Theme not like Preview?
So I installed the theme "Pinboard" and activated it for a blog I'm creating (inspireethose.com). However, the front page that's in the Preview with a slider, 3 column content div's, etc doesn't show like that for me. Every theme I've installed never displays the actual sample screen that the creator shows, any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

Its not something you are doing wrong, its that you have set it up like in the preview. I too was fooled by this at first but found you need to fiddle with all the settings and page templates to get it to look like the theme preview.
I have installed the "Pinboard" theme on a test sever to have a look and if you want to get the slider on your home page you have to
1 - set a featured image on a post 2 - Under the publish menu on the right hand side click on "Visibility" and then check "Stick this post to the front page"
You can do this with all the post you want featured on your slider.
There are extra options for the theme, I haven't gone through them all but if you go to Appearance -> theme options, you will see some options for the home page.

This is huge help! I've watched the videos Treehouse has but this really wasn't covered probably because I'm attempting to do something different than the norm, then again maybe not.
I appreciate the time and efforts you put in to recreating this for me as well. Great community on Treehouse!
