Wordpress.com -> Wordpress.org

I recently started blogging on wordpress.com. I'd eventually like to move the content over to wordpress.org to make it mor customizable. Is this possible? Are there any setbacks/issues? I want to make sure I have a good amount of content before I spend any additional money on customization. Thanks

Yes, it's possible. You can export your WordPress.com content and then import it into a WordPress.org setup, all from their respective dashboards. You can do it yourself (Hint: It's pretty simple) or pay Automattic to do it for you.
